Langhorne Creek is somewhat of a hidden treasure.
One of the reasons why might be because it’s not as well-known as its big siblings like the world-renowned Barossa Valley, Clare Valley and McLaren Vale wine regions.
And that’s very much the secret to its charm – and success.
The rolling Langhorne Creek wine region is located on the plains southeast of the town of Strathalbyn along the lower reaches of the Bremer River and Angas River to Lake Alexandrina.
As such, its just a short road trip to Goolwa, and the picturesque South Coast thereafter.
Similar to the state’s other great wine regions, the district is jam-packed with surprises.
“While a relatively new wine region when compared to the likes of the Barossa and McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek never fails to pack a punch,” Nev said.
“The first thing that grabs you is the area’s outstanding scenery – some of it simply takes your breath away,” he said.
“But Langhorne Creek’s real charm lies in the unknown – something I refer to as its hidden treasures.
“Located along many of the winding roads that make up the district are some outstanding wineries and truly memorable, life-long experiences.
“I think that’s because I think believe don’t know what to expect when they plan a wine tour of Langhorne Creek.”
All tastings must be pre booked and during tastings people must be seated and follow the winery’s Covid-19 safety plan.
