Even though I live in the southern suburbs and the stunning McLaren Vale wine region is only a couple of hills further south, I have never taken it for granted.
Never have, never will….and here are my reasons why.
Tucked between the stunning coastline of Port Willunga and Aldinga to the west and the rolling foothills of the Mt Lofty Ranges to the east, McLaren Vale is truly one of Australia’s most picturesque wine regions.
The fact it is a mere 45 minute drive from the Adelaide CBD is simply a bonus!
Whether it’s a relaxing day trip you’re seeking or an even more leisurely weekend or a few days away, McLaren Vale has it all.
And it’s not just the wines McLaren Vale is renowned for. It is also home to some world-class eateries – and some of the accommodation needs to be seen to be believed.
Simply, there something for everyone.
Unbeknown to many, McLaren Vale is the birthplace of wine in South Australia.
Many think the Barossa is, but not so.
It’s also home to one of the most progressive and environmentally-conscious wine communities in Australia.
So not only is McLaren Vale steeped in history, it’s also moving with the times to ensure it maintains the mantle as one of South Australia’s most popular wine districts.

- The above prices are for 1-7 people. Minimum of 5 hours per booking.
- Wineries of choice can be accommodated, however as an experienced wine tour guide, I can highly recommend some unique wineries and lunch venues. A schedule will be made outlining the wineries and lunch venue with times. Wineries must be pre-booked in advanced which I will organize on your behalf.
- Tastings and lunch costs are not included however some tastings are complimentary.
- Tours are based on the time of pick up until drop off at your accommodation.
